Last I heard, he was in Colorado Springs. I don't think that's too far off your route.

Casual Observer should be somewhere near your route (Kentucky), and maybe Velowalt, too (Virginia, I think?).

New advertising idea:

I was on the Vacansoleil website the other night, and I emailed them about making stuff available in the States. (the fanclub and merch only goes to English speakers in the UK)
They emailed back promptly saying they put me on an emailing list and they also sent me links to their facebook and twitter pages. Maybe they responded so quickly because I told them I would be the leader of the American chapter of the Vacansoleil fan club! Anyway, since they seem to take a doucher like me seriously, I think I'm going to email them this spring to say that I'll be appearing in hundreds of pictures on two different websites that will be viewed by thousands of people worldwide (but mostly in the States), and if they ship me a Vacansoleil t-shirt for free, I'll wear it in every single picture. Score!

Hey, we can also do pieces on the Team here (meaning you) and do some promotion ala the Garmin and other threads. We could even do a dedicated Vacansoleil section? Assuming the give you enough schwag!

Spring is here! Feels great to make a new post. Update on trip stuff, outdoor miles, and a short essay on the topic of...what else...shaving the legs! Should be pretty fun. Hit up the address in the signature!

I'm confused. Am I one of your Twitter followers, or one of your Twitter spammers? :D

PS: Hurray for Patty and Selma!

Huh. Clearly you don't know my whole name.

As for the weird pix and tweets, well... I guess I'll have to try harder. :(

Enjoying your writing, and looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming misadventures.

Finally got to reading your recent blog report. Good to hear your wheel came in, how did it do? As in did the flats issue go away? Did you do anything different with this new wheel as far as setup (Tube/Tire)? I hope you're planning on installing a new chain prior to your trip? The legs look ready to rock and roll :P , it seems you have the Duh syndrome of flexing your legs or at least your left leg. No red marks so I guess you didn't hack your leg up during the shave. See its not that hard to do and don't forget you can always grow your bear fuzz back anytime. I have to admit sometimes the stubble is irritating when wearing jeans so you might start wearing shorts more often, weather permitting. Slacks and soft pants feel pretty nice. I also like the picture, maybe all Chaos members should submit their leg picture

Standard low tpi Hutchinson road tire and standard tube, so nothing different I don't suppose. Problem is fixed so far though. I do have a new chain, but it's not installed yet. That is a pretty dopey picture of my legs, and it will really only shock people who know me, and people who know what my legs looked like pre-shave!
I was standing up and bending down at the waist, and I think your legs naturally shift a bit when you do this, especially if you keep your knees straight. My legs are pretty darn skinny. As a teacher, I really only wear slacks, and the stubble feels like it comes right through them! That's not a good feeling.

Hell yes, CO!! We'd be happy to have you along for a while! Keep up with the journal and stuff, and when the time gets closer, we'll be in contact.

Hell we could even do some TdC yellow jersey / lantern rouge pictures that they do every year on the last day of the Tour! :D

We'll be the next Contador/Hutarovich!

Make sure no one crashes them! They should be given the red carpet treatment, well at least the smooth asphalt treatment :D

And by crash I mean no one causes any wheel rubs in the paceline.
